Bruce Springsteen is premiering an unreleased 1980 live version of “Out In The Street”, as a preview of his forthcoming box set, “The Ties That Bind: The River Collection.”
One of 24 songs captured in concert at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ, it’s part of a 7-disc package celebrating the 35th anniversary of the 1980 double album "The River."
Due December 4, the set presents the original record alongside “The River: Single Album” – originally named “The Ties That Bind” – a 10-track album that Springsteen recorded in 1979 as a follow up to 1978’s “Darkness On The Edge Of Town” but never released.
The box also features 22 outtakes from the sessions for his first double-album – including 11 previously unreleased – and an hour-long documentary/interview with Springsteen complete with solo acoustic guitar performances.
The New Jersey rocker will promote the package with a December 19 performance on NBC-TV’s Saturday Night Live.
