Motorhead guitarist Phil Campbell hospitalized

Motorhead cancelled their November 27 show in Berlin, Germany following word that guitarist Phil Campbell has been hospitalized.

“With great regret, Motorhead have to cancel the sold out show in Berlin,” announced the band. “Our brother, guitarist Phil Campbell suddenly required hospitalization. He will be better soon but there is no choice other than to cancel our show in Berlin. We all wish Phil a speedy recovery.”

The group’s next scheduled performance is at Hamburg, Germany's Sporthalle on Saturday, November 28.

The dates are part of Motorhead’s 40th anniversary European tour in support of their latest album, “Bad Magic.”

The project was recorded at NRG Studios in Los Angeles with long-time producer Cameron Webb.

Campbell’s unknown health issue follows a string of cancellations and shortened concerts on the band’s North American summer run while bassist Lemmy Kilmister dealt with a lung infection after playing at high altitudes.
