ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons is sharing a behind the scenes preview of his forthcoming debut solo album, “Perfectamundo.”
Due November 6, Gibbons co-produced the project with Joe Hardy and recorded it in Houston, Los Angeles, Austin and Pontevedra, Spain.
The Cuban music-inspired record sees the ZZ Top guitarist joined by a handpicked group of musicians dubbed The BFG’s.
BFG & Co. includes Martin Guigui on piano and B3, B3 player Mike Flanigan, vocalist/bassist Alex Garza and drummer Greg Morrow, with co-producer Hardy offering additional guitar, keys, bass and vocals, and Gary Moon also supplying additional guitar.
Gibbons recently premiered a video for the album’s lead single, a cover of rockabilly singer Roy Head's 1965 hit “Treat Her Right.”
