The Rolling Stones have issued a performance of “The Harlem Shuffle” as a preview to the forthcoming package, “From the Vault: Live at the Tokyo Dome 1990.”
Originally recorded by the duo of Bob & Earl in 1963, the R&B tune was covered by the group and released as the lead single for their 1986 album, “Dirty Work.”
Due October 30 on DVD and Blu-ray, the set is the fifth package in the Stones “From The Vault” series following “Brussels Affair (Live 1973)”, “Hampton Coliseum (Live 1981)”, “L.A. Forum (Live 1975)” and “Live At The Marquee (Live 1971).”
Newly mixed by Bob Clearmountain, the show was one of ten the group played at the venue as part of a world tour in support of 1989’s “Steel Wheels.”
The live shows also marked the first series of concerts the band had ever performed in Japan.
“From the Vault: Live at the Tokyo Dome 1990” will be available as a 3-DVD and Blu-ray set, as well as a 4-LP+DVD package which will be issued on November 13.
