ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons is premiering a cover of the Slim Harpo blues classic “Got Love If You Want It”, as a preview to his debut solo album, “Perfectamundo.”
Harpo’s 1957 single was the b-side to his classic track, “I’m A King Bee”, a song which went on to establish the bluesman before it was covered by several others – including The Rolling Stones in 1964 – on its way to earning a Grammy Hall of Fame Award which "honors recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance".
Due November 6, Gibbons co-produced “Perfectamundo” with Joe Hardy while working with a handpicked group of musicians dubbed The BFG’s.
Gibbons recently premiered a video for the album’s lead single, a cover of rockabilly singer Roy Head's 1965 hit “Treat Her Right.”
