Pearl Jam will perform on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday, September 23.
The band’s first appearance on the newly-relaunched program follows a May 18 tribute to the show’s longtime host, David Letterman, by frontman Eddie Vedder.
Backed by Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra, Vedder delivered an intense performance of Pearl Jam’s 1994 track, “Better Man”, as a send-off to Letterman ahead of his final broadcast on Wednesday, May 20 after more than three decades in late night television.
Currently on a break from their world tour in support of 2014’s “Lightning Bolt”, the Seattle group will perform at the Global Citizen Festival in New York on September 26 before launching a month-long run across South America in November.
