Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band performed the farewell to Jon Stewart on his final broadcast of the The Daily Show Thursday night.
Springsteen’s wife and E Street Band guitarist Patt Scialfa posted an Instagram photo of the group backstage before the program aired, writing, “Thank you for letting us celebrate a great run with you!!!!!!”
The image was shared on Springsteen’s social media sites along with the message, “Don't miss The Daily Show tonight.”
As Stewart delivered his final send-off, he finished with a slight twist on his trademark send-off, saying, “Here it is, my moment of Zen.”
With that, Springsteen and company launched into “Land Of Hope And Dreams” and “Born To Run” at the request of the host, who wraps up the Comedy Central series after 16 years on the air.
South African comedian Trevor Noah will follow in Stewart’s footsteps when he debuts as host of the program in late September.
