Sammy Hagar has announced plans to launch his own lifestyle brand known as Sammy’s Island.
"For me, it started the moment I first stepped onto the beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in 1982. And again in Maui, Hawaii," says Hagar. "There's something about the island lifestyle that just makes your soul blissful and keeps you coming back for more. It's the feeling you get from being in paradise and there's no denying it.
“It's this quality of life and island vibe that I set out to infuse into Sammy's Island products. And my goal is to take you there—a state of mind that brings it all together. So welcome to my 'Island' – now let's get the party started!"
Sammy's Island is billed as “a visual blend of the best of Cabo and Maui's tropical, laid-back, lush and vibrant patterns and colors that instantly transport consumers to the island life but with a splash of Sammy's Rock 'n' Roll sensibility.”
Products in the lifestyle brand will be stylish, finely crafted and designed to embody the spirit of stress-free, island-style living. Product categories will initially include outdoor furniture, electronics, food, entertaining, beach wear, footwear, table top, jewelry and wall art, among others.
Hagar will publish “Are We Having Any Fun Yet?: The Cooking & Partying Handbook” on September 15 via Dey Street Press.
The project sees the singer share his passion for food and his secrets for rock-and-roll entertaining, including his favorite recipes from home, on the road, and his go-to vacation spots, Cabo and Maui.
Hagar’s latest supergroup, The Circle, are returning to road this month for more dates across the States, with shows scheduled into early September.
The band – which includes bassist Michael Anthony, drummer Jason Bonham and guitarist Vic Johnson – released their debut album, “At Your Service”, in May and it entered the Billboard 200 at No. 78 with opening week sales of 7,000 copies.
