Swedish occult rockers Ghost have scored their first-ever US Top 10 showing with “Meliora.”
Billboard reports the group’s third album has debuted on the US Billboard 200 at No. 8 with opening week sales of 29,000 copies.
The record follows 2013’s “Infestissumam”, which peaked at No. 28 on the chart following its release.
Produced by Klas Åhlund and mixed by Andy Wallace (Slayer, Nirvana, Guns N’ Roses, Linkin Park), “Meliora” presents the debut of vocalist Papa Emeritus III alongside the Nameless Ghouls following the resignation of his three-month older brother, Papa Emeritus II, earlier this year.
Ghost launched the project with an unplugged tour of US record stores in Seattle on August 18.
The intimate appearances will be followed by the Black To The Future North American tour, which begins at The Fillmore in Washington, DC on September 22.
