The pair were supported by a supergroup that included Who drummer Zak Starkey, former Oasis guitarist Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs and Ian Broudie of The Lightning Seeds.
The one-off appearance was part of a 20th anniversary, 2-hour special for the UK series.
The Who recently wrapped up a spring North American leg of their 50th anniversary farewell tour, “The Who Hits 50!”
The band will open a European tour in Belfast on June 21, a trek that includes an appearance at the Glastonbury festival on June 28.
A fall North American run starts September 14 in San Diego, CA.
On June 29, The Who will release “Live At Shea Stadium 1982” on DVD, SD Blu-ray and digital formats; the package features the second show of the group’s two-night stand at New York’s Shea Stadium on their 1982 farewell tour.
