The Foo Fighters have confirmed plans to move forward with their 20th anniversary concert at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC on July 4 following a recent broken leg to frontman Dave Grohl.
“Can’t f***ing wait for the 4th!!!,” tweeted the band. “See you at home, DC.”
The event will see the Foos joined by guests including Buddy Guy, Gary Clark Jr., Heart, Joan Jett, LL Cool J, Trombone Shorty and Trouble Funk.
The Foo Fighters recently cancelled a series of dates on their European tour following Grohl’s injury, which happened when he fell off stage in Gothenburg, Sweden on June 12.
The band initially cancelled a pair of shows – a June 14 appearance at the Pinkpop Festival and a June 16 date in St. Gallen, Switzerland – but were advised to shut down the rest of the tour on doctor’s orders after Grohl underwent surgery on June 15.
The Washington event is the opening show of the Foo Fighters summer tour of North America, which is scheduled to run into mid-October.
