Foo Fighter frontman Dave Grohl confirms he has plans to shoot a second season of the Sonic Highways TV series at some point in the future.
The original project saw the band film the background and sessions for their 2014 album of the same name, which was recorded in studios in 8 different US cities.
“There is gonna be another Sonic Highways season,” Grohl tells NME (video below). "It might – or might not – be international. It might someday be international. It might only be England…or England and other places…or maybe its other places in America and people from other countries who are inspired by these places in America.
“The great idea about the concept is that it can be anywhere because every city has some sort of musical history.”
"Of all the places in the world,” Grohl continued, “England and the UK seems like it would be like shooting fish in a barrel because there's so much here.”
The head Foo is not putting a timetable to the plan at this point, as the group have their hands full on a world tour in support of the 2014 album.
“I’m sure it’ll happen someday,” adds Grohl. “I’m not sure when.”
While Grohl specifically referenced a second TV series, he did not elaborate as to whether or not a follow-up “Sonic Highways” album might act as a companion to the project.
The Foo Fighters are in the middle of a European tour in support of “Sonic Highways”, which launched May 25 and wraps up at the Glastonbury Festival on June 26.
The band will then kick off a North American run on July 4 at Washington’s RFK Stadium.
