Led Zeppelin gear book due this fall
Author Jeff Strawman will publish “Led Zeppelin Gear: All The Gear From Led Zeppelin And The Solo Careers” on October 6.
The webmaster and editor of Zeppelin fansites Achilles Last Stand and LedZepConcerts.com has compiled a 600-page review of equipment used by the group in a chronological format.
A chapter is dedicated to each band member, along with a section on live sound used by Zeppelin through the years.
An additional chapter, "Magic Studio Days", delivers a song-by-song analysis of the gear that was used in the studio, both by the members of Led Zeppelin as well by the engineers. Also included is a study of the tracks in each song, as well as a brief history on the songs.
“Led Zeppelin Gear: All The Gear From Led Zeppelin And The Solo Careers” will be issued in hard cover, special edition leather bound and digital formats.
The book is available now for pre-order at ledzepgearbook.com
Led Zeppelin are currently involved in a copyright lawsuit in a federal court in California over the creation of their 1971 classic, “Stairway To Heaven.”
The suit - brought by the estate of Spirit guitarist Randy California and members of the band – claims the acoustic introduction to “Stairway” was lifted from their 1968 instrumental, “Taurus.”
