The Foo Fighters will appear Wednesday night as the final musical guests on The Late Show with David Letterman, reports Rolling Stone.
Letterman will deliver his farewell program tonight after more than three decades in late night television.
The host has been an outspoken fan of the Foo Fighters throughout the years. Letterman personally invited the group to appear on his first program back after open heart surgery in 2000, where they performed one his favorite songs, “Everlong.”
Letterman’s company, Worldwide Pants, helped initiate and facilitate the production of the band’s “Sonic Highways” TV series last year as the group worked on its 8th album, which was launched with a week-long residency on The Late Show last fall.
