HBO have released the trailer for “Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck”, the new documentary about the late Nirvana frontman, ahead of its premiere on the cable channel on May 4.
The clip mixes archival family footage with interviews, live material and animation for a film billed as a raw and visceral journey through the singer’s life, providing no-holds-barred access to Cobain’s never-before-seen home movies, recordings, artwork, photography, journals, demos, personal archives, family archives and songbooks.
Directed by Brett Morgen with Cobain’s daughter, Frances Bean, as executive producer, "Montage Of Heck" debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in January to rave reviews.
A soundtrack album will feature unreleased material, including an epic, 12-minute acoustic song by the Nirvana frontman
The project will also be spun-off into a companion book of the same name.
Cobain and Nirvana were inducted into the 2014 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame last April.
