Metallica will headline Lollapalooza 2015 at Grant Park in Chicago this summer.
The July 31-August 2 weekend festival will see Paul McCartney headline opening night on Friday, with Metallica at center stage on Saturday and Florence and the Machine and Bassnectar sharing co-headline status on the closing night.
"It's been nearly 20 years since we've been lucky enough to take the stage at Lollapalooza,” says Metallica, “so we are over the top that we've been asked to play this year at the now annual extravaganza held at Grant Park in Chicago.

Metallica are currently in studio working on the follow-up to 2008’s “Death Magnetic.”
The band return to live action May 9 when they headline at the inaugural Rock In Rio USA festival in Las Vegas.
