Lynyrd Skynyrd will release an expanded version of audio from their 2008 live DVD, “Sweet Home Alabama”, on CD and digital formats for the first time, on June 2.
The updated package presents the original 14-track set by their mid-90’s lineup in concert at Rockpalast’s Loreley Festival in 1996, and adds three songs recorded live at the Hamburg Musikhalle on December 5, 1974 with the band’s original lineup: “Working For MCA,” “Free Bird” and “Sweet Home Alabama.”
A 2LP release of “Sweet Home Alabama” will follow at a later date.
Lynyrd Skynyrd’s most recent studio release is 2012’s “Last Of A Dyin’ Breed.”
The group are currently playing shows across North America and recently announced dates for a European tour, which opens April 21 in Glasgow, Scotland.
The month-long trek includes Skynyrd’s first-ever concerts in Austria, Poland and the Czech Republic.
