John Mayer to induct Stevie Ray Vaughan into Rock Hall
John Mayer will induct Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble into the 2015 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland on April 18.
The late Texas blues legend topped the fan ballot for the event with more than 18 million votes – more than 5 million ahead of the next nominee.
The Rock Hall announced its list of presenters on Wednesday, which include Paul McCartney inducting fellow Beatle Ringo Starr; Fall Out Boy inducting Green Day; the late Lou Reed will be honored by fellow New York music legend Patti Smith; Stevie Wonder will introduce soul singer Bill Withers; Peter Wolf of the J. Geils Band will honor the Paul Butterfield Blues Band; and, Steve Cropper will induct the 5 Royales.
Confirmed to perform are Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, Joe Walsh, Tom Morello, Jimmy Vaughan, Beck, John Legend and more to be announced.
To be eligible for nomination, an individual artist or band must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.
The 30th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 18 at Cleveland’s Public Hall.
