Stone Temple Pilots have begun recording new music with singer Chester Bennington of Linkin Park.
“It's been a great week for writing new songs here at HOMeFRY,” tweetd bassist Robert DeLeo on January 9 along with an image of the band in their practice room. “New STP starting Monday... Stay tuned.”
Bennington was brought into the band after original frontman Scott Weiland was fired by Stone Temple Pilots in February of 2013, leading to a series of public statements and lawsuits by both parties.
In 2013, the revitalized group released an EP, “High Rise”, which debuted at No. 24 on the US Billboard 200 chart following first week sales of 12,000 copies.
Stone Temple Pilots recently announced their first live concert date of 2015: they’ll play Arizona Bike Week in Scottsdale on March 28.
