This past summer, Stone Temple Pilots bassist Robert DeLeo confirmed the band were working on new music with Bennington.
“Spending the week writing new #STP material here at HOMeFRY...,” tweeted the bassist in July, along with an image of the band in their practice room. “…And having a blast...” read the follow-up tweet with more smiles from the group members.
Bennington joined the band after original frontman Scott Weiland was fired by Stone Temple Pilots in February of 2013, leading to a series of public statements and lawsuits by both parties.
The revitalized group released an EP, “High Rise”, in 2013; the project debuted at No. 24 on the US Billboard 200 chart following first week sales of 12,000 copies.
