Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine has issued his first public comments on the band’s status following the recent departure of guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover.
Late last month, both players issued separate statements – just hours apart – that they were leaving to pursue their own musical interests; they have since confirmed plans to launch a new band together.
"I wish Megadeth fans could know what is going on right now,” tweeted Mustaine on Monday, “…you would be very happy!"
Mustaine’s comments come on the heels of a video posted his son, Justis, who shared footage of bassist David Ellefson rehearsing with an as-yet-undisclosed drummer.
I wish @Megadeth fans could know what is going on right now…you would be very happy!
