A new report suggests AC/DC will perform at the 57th annual Grammy Awards in February.
Hits Daily Double reports the word from sources inside the Recording Academy is that AC/DC – as well as U2 and Madonna – have been booked to perform on the broadcast
The music industry magazine says executive producer Ken Ehrlich makes an all-out effort to confirm a handful of performers for the show prior to the December holiday break, and these three are the kind of acts Ehrlich would typically approach.
The Grammys typically schedule one rock artist to perform during the event as a token nod to the genre, while mainstream pop acts dominate the program.
The 57th Annual Grammy Awards will air on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 8.
AC/DC recently released their first album in six years, “Rock Or Bust.”
The project was recorded this past spring at Vancouver’s Warehouse Studio with producer Brendan O’Brien (Aerosmith, Pearl Jam) and engineer Mike Fraser.
The group have revealed the first series of dates for a 2015 world tour: a European trek will launch May 5 in Arnhem, Netherlands, with a mix of arena and stadium shows scheduled into late July.
More dates are expected to be announced soon.
