Pink Floyd are on track to earn their first UK No.1 album in 20 years with “The Endless River.”
The Official Charts Company reports the album has sold more than 92,000 copies by midweek.
“The Endless River” sits at No. 1 in the midweek rankings, ahead of the Foo Fighters (”Sonic Highways”), Sam Smith (“In The Lonely Hour”), Ed Sheeran (“X”) and Queen (“Queen Forever”).
The full weekly chart will be published on Sunday.
“The Endless River” features material recorded by guitarist David Gilmour, drummer Nick Mason and keyboardist Rick Wright during sessions for 1994’s “The Division Bell”, and serves as the band’s tribute to Wright, who died from cancer in 2008 at the age of 65.
