The Foo Fighters have announced a spring 2015 UK stadium tour in support of their new album, “Sonic Highways.”
The 5-show run will open on May 25 at Sunderland’s Stadium Of Light before playing Manchester, two shows in London and a final date in Edinburgh.
Iggy Pop and Royal Blood will appear with the band for the two London shows, while Royal Blood will also join them in Edinburgh.
Pre-sale tickets for the shows will go on sale on Wednesday, November 19 at 9am, while the general public sale starts on Friday, November 21 at 10am.
The Foo Fighters headlined the closing concert of the Invictus Games in London in September and played three surprise club shows (in Brighton, London and North London) to warm up for the event.
Produced by Butch Vig, “Sonic Highways” is the band’s 8th studio album and was recorded in 8 American cities – Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle and Washington, D.C.
The project was launched last month with a companion 8-part HBO series about the recording of the album, with the Foo Fighters unveiling new songs eack week in sync with the series, which premiered October 17.
