The Foo Fighters teamed up with Louisiana blues-rocker Tony Joe White for a performance of his 1969 hit, “Polk Salad Annie”, on The Late Show with David Letterman Wednesday.
The Foos are on hand to promote the October 17 premiere of the 8-part HBO series, “Sonic Highways”, which chronicles the making of the band’s forthcoming album of the same name, out November 10.
The group recorded the project in eight American cities – Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle and Washington, D.C.
The Foos opened their week-long residency on Monday with Zac Brown to play Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” (see it here),
before being joined by Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart for their 1977 classic, “Kick It Out” (video here).
