Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry shared a classic guitar story involving Slash on TBS’ late night show, Conan, on Monday.
On hand to promote his newly-released memoir, “Rocks: My Life In And Out Of Aerosmith", the rocker sat in with Jimmy Vivino & The Basic Cable Band throughout the program and also joined the host to chat about the book.
Perry went on tell a story from the book about how he sold his favourite guitar when he left Aerosmith in 1979 and needed funds to launch his solo band, The Joe Perry Project.
Perry eventually returned to Aerosmith and when the band was back on its feet, he went searching for the axe, only to discover it found its way into Slash’s hands.
Check out the full story in the video below.
In “Rocks”, Perry opens up for the first time about the wild, inside story of his life in the legendary band he co-founded in 1970.
The guitarist just completed a 2-week nationwide book signing tour to launch the memoir.
