George Harrison’s son, Dhani, performed two songs as a tribute to his father on the third night of a week-long series featured on TBS’ late-night show, Conan.
Dhani delivered a pair of songs from his father’s 1970 triple-album, “All Things Must Pass”, including “Let It Down” and “Ballad Of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let It Roll).”
The week-long tribute is to mark the release of the new box set, “George Harrison: The Apple Years 1968-75.”
The week kicked off Monday with a performance by Beck (see it here), with Paul Simon playing on Tuesday (watch it here); Norah Jones will wrap up the series on Thursday.
Available on CD and digital download, “George Harrison: The Apple Years 1968-75” is designed to complement Harrison's 2004 collection, “The Dark Horse Years 1976-92.”
The set spans Harrison's solo work for The Beatles' Apple Records from 1968 to 1975 and features an exclusive DVD with several video pieces, including a new seven-minute film with previously unreleased footage.
The Apple Years box also features an exclusive perfect-bound book with an introduction by Dhani Harrison, new essays by award-winning radio producer and author Kevin Howlett and rare, previously unpublished images.
