Beck kicked of George Harrison tribute week on TBS’ late-night show, Conan, on Monday and video of his performance is available.
Beck played “Wah-Wah”, a track from Harrison’s 1970 triple-album, “All Things Must Pass.”
The week-long tribute is to mark the release of the new box set, “George Harrison: The Apple Years 1968-75”, which is available today in North America.
The week continues Tuesday with a Harrison tune covered by Paul Simon; Dhani Harrison will perform on Wednesday and Norah Jones will wrap up the series on Thursday.
Available on CD and digital download, “George Harrison: The Apple Years 1968-75” is designed to complement Harrison's 2004 collection, “The Dark Horse Years 1976-92.”
The set spans Harrison's solo work for The Beatles' Apple Records from 1968 to 1975 and features an exclusive DVD with several video pieces, including a new seven-minute film with previously unreleased footage.
The Apple Years box also features an exclusive perfect-bound book with an introduction by Dhani Harrison, new essays by award-winning radio producer and author Kevin Howlett and rare, previously unpublished images.
