Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister is sharing an update on his health following a 2013 haematoma (where blood collects outside of a blood vessel) that resulted in the cancellation of a European tour.
“Alright. I’m getting back there,” Lemmy tells VH1. “We’ve just done two tours. It doesn’t really matter what you do, it’s how you do it and how you feel. I gave up smoking more or less. I have one now and again but that’s about it. And I more or less gave up drinking or I switched to vodka instead of Jack Daniels, which is better for you apparently. If you’re going to drink, that’s the least harmful.”
Previously fitted with a defibrillator because of heart problems, last year’s issues were reportedly releated to Lemmy’s diabetes.
Still touring in support of 2013’s release, “Aftershock”, Lemmy and the band launch their first-ever cruise, Motorboat, this week.
Motorboat will sail September 22-26 on the Carnival Cruise Lines Ecstasy from Miami to Key West and Cozumel, Mexico.
Joining the iconic rockers on what is being billed as “The Loudest Boat in The World” will be Anthrax, Zakk Wylde, Jim Breuer, Danko Jones, Fireball Ministry, Wilson and more.
