Deep Purple singer Ian Gillan has been added to the lineup for the Rock Meets Classic 2015 tour.
"It is a pleasure to announce that the legendary icon Ian Gillan will join the Rock Meets Classic tour 2015 with a wonderful Deep Purple BestOf set,” announced organizers. “Deep Purple performed the first-ever combination of rock music and a complete orchestra and there's a strong partnership between Ian and the RMC project. We are delighted - welcome back Ian!"
Gillan, who performed on the Rock Meets Classic tours in 2011 and 2012, returns for his third outing.
The Deep Purple fontman is the fourth act of five to be announced for next year's tour, joining Mr. Big's Eric Martin, Asia's John Wetton and Status Quo's Rick Parfitt on the bill.
Rock Meets Classic showcases classic rock artists of the '70s and '80s performing their hits backed by The Mat Sinner Band and the Bohemian Orchestra Prague.
