ZZ Top and Jeff Beck have suspended their remaining tour dates, effective immediately, following an injury to bassist Dusty Hill.
Hill slipped and fell on his hip while aboard his tour bus Tuesday night; as a result of his injury, which requires immediate attention, ZZ Top performance dates have been temporarily suspended while he recovers.
The first show affected by the news is Wednesday (tonight) at DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan, just outside of Detroit.
Jeff Beck and his band will perform the next three scheduled dates without ZZ Top:
Aug 29 ... Seneca Allegany Casino - Salamanca, NY
Aug 30 ... The Concert Venue @ Harrah’s - Atlantic City, NJ
Aug 31 ... MGM Grand Theater @ Foxwoods - Mashantucket, CT
Ticket holders for the following dates should retain their tickets pending the possibility of rescheduling these concerts:
Sep 06 ... Verizon Wireless Amphitheater - Alpharetta, GA
Sep 07 ... St. Augustine Amphitheater - St. Augustine, FL
Sep 09 ... Cruzan Amphitheater - West Palm Beach, FL
Sep 10 ... Midflorida Credit Union Amphitheater - Tampa, FL
Sep 12 ... Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion - The Woodlands, TX
Sep 13 ... Winstar Casino - Thackerville, OK
“While we are very disappointed to not continue this tour with ZZ Top,” said Jeff Beck, “our thoughts and best wishes are for Dusty to have a speedy recovery.”
It’s the second health issue Hill has faced recently; last month, ZZ Top were forced to postpone the start of their summer US tour following news that the bassist had to undergo immediate surgery to remove two kidney stones.
ZZ Top recently released two projects: a greatest hits package entitled “The Very Baddest Of ZZ Top”, as well as a concert DVD, “Live At Montreux 2013.”
