Robert Plant has released a new performance video for “Rainbow”, the lead single from his forthcoming new album, “lullaby and...The Ceaseless Roar.”
The clip combines footage filmed at three recent shows: the Hydrogen Festival in Padova, Italy, the Colours of Ostrava in the Czech Republic, and the UK’s Glastonbury Festival.
Due September 5 in Europe and September 9 in North America, “lullaby and...The Ceaseless Roar” was recorded at Helium Studios in Wiltshire and Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios in Bath, UK.
The album features 9 new songs and two covers: The Stanley Brothers’ “Little Maggie” and the Lead Belly tune, “Poor Howard.”
Plant has teamed up with Genero TV to hold a contest for a fan to create the official video for “Rainbow.”
The creative direction is being left completely open, so entrants are advised to listen to the song, be inspired, and create something that reflects their vision for the tune.
The official selection and finalist group will be chosen by Plant and Genero TV.
The selected video will receive $3,000 and have their video used as the official music clip for the single.
Deadline for submissions is September 8, 2014, 23:59 GMT time.
Full contest details are available at Genero TV.
Plant and The Sensational Space Shifters recently wrapped up a series of shows across Europe; they’ll play Glastonbury Abbey on August 9 before heading to Japan for two shows.
