Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen is now showcasing art at Wentworth Gallery locations across the United States.
Allen’s work is described as “a sophisticated fusion of deconstructive art containing photography, acrylic and silkscreen on canvas.”
The drummer is translating rhythm into a visual art medium through an extensive process involving drumbeat, light, photography, and graphic design. The result is a collection of abstract imagery built directly from Allen's rhythmic prowess. And as one of the pioneers in this new medium, Allen is holding true to a lifetime of breaking barriers and new ground.
In 2012, Allen debuted his first collection, "Electric Hand: Rhythm + Change", in Las Vegas during the band’s spring residency.
Last fall, he introduced a second collection, “Rock On Canvas.”
One of the most acclaimed drummers in the history of rhythm, Rick’s powerful and unique rhythmic voice has profoundly influenced the signature sound of Def Leppard.
