Stone Temple Pilots working on new music with Chester Bennington

Stone Temple Pilots have been working on new music with current singer Chester Bennington of Linkin Park.

“Spending the week writing new #STP material here at HOMeFRY...,” tweeted bassist Robert DeLeo, along with an image of the band in their practice room. “…And having a blast...” read the follow-up tweet with more smiles from the group members.

Bennington was brought into the band after original frontman Scott Weiland was fired by Stone Temple Pilots in February of 2013, leading to a series of public statements and lawsuits by both parties.

The revitalized group released an EP, “High Rise”, last fall; the project debuted at No. 24 on the US Billboard 200 chart following first week sales of 12,000 copies.

Bennington and Linkin Park played some European shows this spring in advance of the June 17th release of their latest album, “The Hunting Party.”

Linkin Park will launch a North American tour on August 8 in West Palm Beach, Florida with Thirty Seconds To Mars on the bill.
