Slash will be honored as the first recipient of the Guitar Legend Award at the inaugural AP Music Awards in Cleveland, Ohio on July 21.
Hosted by Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus and presented by Alternative Press, the event will see 15 awards handed out, with fans casting their votes in 12 different categories.
The evening at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame will feature performances from A Day To Remember, All Time Low, Asking Alexandria, Fall Out Boy, Falling In Reverse, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Machine Gun Kelly, the Misfits, Sleeping With Sirens, twenty one pilots and Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco, with more to be announced.
The AP Music Awards will be broadcast on AXS TV beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on July 21.
Slash will releae his third solo album, “World On Fire”, on September 16.
The guitarist launches his tour in support of the project with a headlining show tonight (Wednesday) at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire.
On Thursday, Slash joins Aerosmith for the Let Rock Rule North American tour, which opens at Jones Beach in Wantagh, New York.
