Metallica’s sophomore album, “Ride The Lightning”, is marking its 30th anniversary.
Released July 27, 1984, the project was recorded in Copenhagen, Denmark with producer Flemming Rasmussen, who would go on to oversee the band’s next two albums.
“Ride The Lightning” features several Metallica concert staples, including the single “Creeping Death”, “For Whom The Bell Tolls” and “Fade To Black.”
The album peaked at No. 100 on the US Billboard 200 on its way to selling more than 6 million copies in the States alone.
Metallica recently completed their “By Request” European tour and will perform at Heavy Montreal on August 9.
