Jack White debuts at US No. 1 with Lazaretto

Jack White has landed his second US No. 1 album with “Lazaretto.”

Billboard reports the rocker tops the Billboard 200 album chart with opening week sales of 138,000 copies.

White previously debuted on top with his 2012 effort, “Blunderbuss.”

"Lazaretto" also sets the record for the largest sales week for a vinyl album since SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991.

The vinyl LP sold 40,000 copies — easily enough to debut at No. 1 on Billboard's Vinyl Albums chart.

“Lazaretto” broke the vinyl sales record set by Pearl Jam's "Vitalogy", which moved 34,000 vinyl LPs in its first week back in 1994. Notably, "Vitalogy" was issued on vinyl first, two weeks before its release on CD and cassette.

White will kick off a summer European tour with a performance at the Glastonbury Festival on June 28; he’ll follow Robert Plant’s set and appear just before Metallica deliver the first headline show by a metal band at the event.
