Rob Zombie is bringing his Halloween-themed Great American Nightmare attraction to Arizona this fall.
Following a successful inaugural run last year, the 2014 edition – set for September 19 to November 1 – will be staged in Phoenix while, on select nights, the WestWorld of Scottsdale will play host.
“The first year was such a blast. I am thrilled to be able to take the Great American Nightmare to a new city this year,” said Zombie. “My only goal is to make it even sicker than last year.”
Zombie will headline opening night on September 19.
The three haunted house experiences for this year will include “The Lords of Salem in Total Black Out”, “Captain Spaulding’s Clown School in 3D” and “The Devil’s Rejects.”
* "The Lords Of Salem In Total Black Out": This harrowing attraction — based on Zombie's 2012 "The Lords Of Salem" independent horror film — is designed to twist the mind. It will accentuate some senses while limiting others. Fear of the darkness, claustrophobia, and fear of the unknown will be preyed on as visitors attempt to traverse this sixty-degree maze.
* "Captain Spaulding's Clown School In 3D": This irreverent school of pure terror is a hallucinogenic trip through the mind of Captain Spaulding ("House Of 1000 Corpses", "The Devil's Rejects"). Startle after startle will thoroughly frighten the bravest patrons, who won't know if they should be laughing, screaming or crying.
* "The Devil's Rejects": The murderous, backwoods Firefly family takes to the road to escape a vengeful police force that isn't afraid of being as ruthless as its target. Guests will become part of the state troopers' search and destroy mission against the Firefly family, who are wanted for over 75 homicides and disappearances.
In addition, the Great American Nightmare's Bloody Boulevard will feature freak shows, musical entertainment, roaming characters, themed food and beverages, games and vendors each night.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 13 at 10AM PT at the event’s website here.
The rocker recently released a new live DVD, “The Zombie Horror Picture Show.”
The project captures Zombie in concert last summer in Houston (Aug 3) and Dallas (Aug 4) during the final two shows of the 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
