Metallica frontman James Hetfield teamed up with Sammy Hagar to co-headline the first annual "Acoustic-4-A-Cure" concert at the Fillmore in San Francisco, California.
The event benefitted the Pediatric Cancer Program at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, and featured solo sets, duets and jam sessions.
Hetfield’s 4-song set included Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters” and “Until It Sleeps”, a cover of The Beatles' “In My Life”, and a medley of Bob Seger’s “Turn The Page” and Green Day’s “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams” – for which he was joined by that band’s Billie Joe Armstrong and acclaimed guitarist Joe Satriani.
The event also featured performances by Hagar, Scott Mathews, Pat Monahan of Train, and Nancy Wilson of Heart.
