The Black Keys land first US No. 1 album with Turn Blue

The Black Keys have landed their first US No. 1 album as “Turn Blue” debuts atop the Billboard 200 chart this week.

Billboard reports "Turn Blue" sold 164,000 copies in its first week to beat “Xscape”, the new release by Michael Jackson.

"Turn Blue" is the third top 10 album for the band, following the No. 2 debut of their last album, 2011's "El Camino", and 2010's "Brothers", which debuted and peaked at No. 3.

The margin of victory for The Black Keys over Jackson was just 7,000 copies (164,000 – 157,000).

The band have been performing songs as part of a promotional trek to launch the record; they’ll officially kick off a European tour at the Southside Festival in Neuhausen, Germany on June 20.
