John Mellencamp announces new album as part of lifetime record deal
John Mellencamp will release his new album, “Plain Spoken”, this fall as the first project under a newly-signed and unprecedented lifetime recording contract with Republic Records.
“Not only has he served as an ambassador of social consciousness in America, but he has also provided the soundtrack of a generation,” said Republic Records co-founder and chief executive Monte Lipman. “We’re thrilled to be working with John Mellencamp as part of this historic deal.”
Mellencamp’s 22nd album, “Plain Spoken” is his first new release since 2010’s “No Better Than This.”
The rocker will kick off a summer tour of North America with a two-night stand at the WinStar Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma on June 20 and 21.
