Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page was a guest on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, and video of his appearance is available.
Page was on hand to promote the June 2 (June 3 in North America) release of expanded reissues of the band’s first three albums.
Updated versions of “Led Zeppelin I”, “Led Zeppelin II” and “Led Zeppelin III” are the first projects to be released as part of an extensive reissue program that will see all nine of the band’s studio albums reissued in chronological order, each remastered by Page.
"When these things were originally done, they were done for vinyl," Page told Fallon. "And then they were remastered about 20 years ago for the CD market. But now there's a re-emerging vinyl market, CD, digital online — so the whole lot of these original albums has been remastered for all of those different media, if you like."
"I thought, 'Other people have done this — other people have remastered their catalog, so let's see what we can do to make it, like, really special,'" Page said about the bonus disc of unreleased material that comes with each reissue.
