Motorhead were joined by Slash for the encores of their first live show since last summer and video from Friday’s event at Club Nokia in Los Angeles is available.
Motorhead’s return to live action in support of their new album, “Aftershock”, followed a series of European tour cancellations and postponements while frontman Lemmy Kilmister addressed some health issues releated to his diabetes and the rocker took some downtime on doctor’s orders.
Motorhead cut short their last stage appearance, at Germany’s Wacken Open Air festival last August, due to Lemmy’s issues; the group performed 30 of a scheduled 75-minute show in 100-plus degree heat before shutting things down.
The band’s 16-song set in Los Angeles opened with “I Know How To Die” (from 2011’s “The World Is Yours”), and wrapped up with Slash on two encores: Motorhead’s signature tune, “Ace Of Spades”, and “Overkill.”
Slash will join Motorhead at both of the group's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival appearances on April 13 and April 20 in Indio, California.
