Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson stopped by Ishibashi Music Shibuya in Tokyo during a recent trip to Japan, and video of the visit has surfaced.
The store has posted footage of Lifeson signing both his signature series Gibson Les Paul back plate and the case and COA of his Paul Reed Smith Private Stock signature series acoustic guitar.
On April 29, Lifeson and Rush will release the LP Box Set of “Rush Rediscovered”, a reissue of the band’s 1974 debut album to mark its 40th anniversary.
The package features the Rush debut re-mastered at Abbey Road studios by Sean McGee, who has been responsible for all recent Beatles vinyl re-masters.
The Re-discovered vinyl is encased in a 12 x 12 high quality box. Pressed on audiophile 200 gram vinyl on the Direct Metal Mastering process, this is the highest quality vinyl currently available.
The release contains a re-production of the original 1974 Canadian retail poster (only 500 were ever originally printed) and individual Moon Records publicity photos of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and original drummer John Rutsey.
The package also contains a first time ever Rush Family Tree, tracing origins of the band dating back to 1965 and a memorabilia collage of early Canadian and US gig ads, reviews, photos and the first ever Rush bio.
Lifeson recently confirmed the Canadian band will mark its 41st anniversary next year with a lengthy world tour.
