Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth hooked up with New York a cappella group Naturally 7 at their show in Tokyo on Sunday and the rocker is sharing video of an impromptu backstage performance of Pharrell Williams’ smash hit, “Happy.”
In the latest episode of his online series The Roth Show, the singer recently revealed that he has been working on a secret Van Halen project.
“Doing some catching up here, a little bit of a scrapbook,” said Roth. “We’ve been doing a lot of travelling. [I’ve been] working on a great Van Halen project - can’t announce anything … or I’d have to come find you and swear you to secrecy.”
The rocker also talked about his life in Tokyo, as well as a recent appearance with Mike Love of the Beach Boys at The Society Of Singers’ 21st ELLA Awards in Beverly Hills in February, where the two teamed up to perform that band’s classic (and solo hit for Roth), “California Girls.”
