KISS to be inducted into Rock Hall by Tom Morello

The original lineup of KISS will be inducted into the 2014 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame on April 10 by former Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, the Hall announced Tuesday.

The event at New York’s Barclays Center will also see R.E.M. vocalist Michael Stipe induct Nirvana; Chris Martin of Coldplay inducting Peter Gabriel; Questlove of The Roots induct Hall And Oates; Glenn Frey of The Eagles will induct Linda Ronstadt; a presenter for Cat Stevens is TBA; and Bruce Springsteen will induct The E Street Band.

Inductees set to perform include Gabriel, Hall & Oates and The E Street Band, while Ronstadt will receive a musical tribute from Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks, Carrie Underwood, Emmylou Harris and Sheryl Crow.

Due to feuding amongst its members and a disagreement with the Rock Hall over their induction, KISS will not be performing at the ceremony.

Morello, meanwhile, appears on the latest Springsteen album, “High Hopes”, and has been touring with the New Jersey rocker.

The 2014 event is being recorded for broadcast on HBO on Saturday, May 31 at 9pm ET/PT.
