Journey singer Arnel Pineda is planning to release solo album.
The Associated Press reports Pineda says he’s been putting together an album of his own compositions which he plans to launch within the year.
Arnel quashed rumours that he is gearing up to leave Journey and dismissed talk of the band’s possible reunion with former lead singer Steve Perry.
Pineda joined the San Francisco band in 2007 after being discovered by band founder and guitarist Neal Schon singing Journey covers with Filipino band The Zoo on YouTube.
Arnel appeared on Journey’s 2008 release, “Revelation”, and their 2011 album, “Eclipse.”
Journey kick off a summer 2014 North American tour with the Steve Miller Band on May 15 in Chula Vista, California with special guests Tower Of Power.
