Journey guitarist Neal Schon is previewing his new solo album, “So U”, with the release of a video for the track, “Exotica.”
Due May 19 (May 20 in North America), “So U” sees Schon team up with Black Star Riders’ bassist Marco Mendoza and Journey drummer Deen Castronovo for the 9-song project.
“This is a great new record that features all three of us – Deen, Marco and myself – sharing lead vocals. Enjoy!” said Schon.
Many of the tracks were co-written by Night Ranger/Damn Yankees songwriter, singer and bassist Jack Blades.
The guitarist will soon issue a video for the title track as the album’s lead single.
Schon’s last solo effort was 2012’s “The Calling”, and Journey’s latest was 2011’s “Eclipse.”
Journey kick off a summer 2014 North American tour with the Steve Miller Band on May 15 in Chula Vista, California with special guests Tower Of Power.
