Jack White to issue world’s fastest-released record

Jack White has announced plans to issue the “world’s fastest-released record in the history of mankind” as part of Record Store Day.

At 10 AM on April 19, White will hit the stage at his Third Man Record label's blue room and record a direct-to-acetate what will serve as the limited edition version of his next single, a live rendition of the title track from his upcoming album, “Lazaretto.”

Following the performance, the masters will be rushed to United Record Pressing who will immediately begin pressing 45s. The sleeves will be printed from pictures taken at the show and the finished records will be rushed back to Third Man to sell to awaiting fans in a matter of mere hours, with an expected issue time of 4 PM.

United will continue to press and deliver singles to the label’s offices to sell as long as fans are there to buy them, available exclusively that day and only at Third Man.

Tickets for the event – which includes an afternoon performance by Whirlwind Heat - will be available exclusively through The Third Man Records Vault to Platinum Members.

Earlier this week, White issued a video for “High Ball Stepper” as a preview to “Lazaretto”, which will be released on June 10.

The new project is the follow-up to White’s 2012 US No. 1 record, “Blunderbuss.”
