AC/DC singer previews Cars That Rock TV series

AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson is previewing “Cars That Rock”, a new television series he is hosting that is set to begin airing in the UK next month.

Available on Quest, Freeview Channel 38 starting May 8, “Cars That Rock” follows Johnson as he pursues his passion of cars, looking into the history, meeting the fanatics and of racing in general.

Over six 60-minute episodes, Johnson looks at six of his favorite makes of car – three from the U.K. and three from other parts of Europe.

In 2009, Johnson released his autobiography, "Rockers And Rollers: A Full Throttle Memoir."

The book details Brian’s history - from teenage memories in the backs of beat-up coups to a side career as a racecar driver, Johnson shares his life story — a memoir told through his lifelong love affair with cars.

AC/DC has been making headlines recently as rumors surfaced about the band’s status and future in the wake of rumors surrounding guitarist Malcolm Young’s health and their possible retirement.

“After forty years of life dedicated to AC/DC, guitarist and founding member Malcolm Young is taking a break from the band due to ill health,” said the band in a released statement. “Malcolm would like to thank the group’s diehard legions of fans worldwide for their never-ending love and support.”

“In light of this news,” they added, “AC/DC asks that Malcolm and his family’s privacy be respected during this time. The band will continue to make music.”

Various media outlets have reported Young, the older brother of bandmate and lead guitarist Angus Young, has been dealing with health issues for some time, which singer Brian Johnson alluded to in an interview earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Johnson recently confirmed the group will enter a Vancouver recording studio next month as planned.
